He is the Chairman of the Governing Council of National Crime Research Centre.
He is a distinguished lawyer who holds a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from the University of Nairobi and a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
Currently he serves as the Attorney General of the Republic of Kenya and previously served as the Speaker of the Kenya National Assembly/ Chairman of the Parliamentary Service Commission from 2013 to 2022.
